Litton Cheney - to End of July
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the
Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS,
LITTON CHENEY:
LITTON LANE between its junction with Cox's Lane and a point approximately 125 metres west.
C9 between its junction with Baglake and The Old Brewery, a distance approximately 150 metres.
CHALK PIT LANE between its junction with Main Street and its junction with Litton Hill, a distance of approximately 120 metres.
MAIN STREET between its junction with School Lane and the entrance to Charity Farm, a distance of approximately 45 metres.
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and
to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18
months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 July 2026.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out sewer lining works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
