Jon Gifford, Chairman of the National Coastwatch
Institution (NCI) was the guest speaker at the Bridport & District Tourism
Association social evening at Haddon House Hotel last week and while outlining
the work of the Coastwatch charity nationally Jon also took the opportunity to
announce the launching of a local project to establish a Coastwatch Station for
Lyme Bay.

and need for the discussion.
The
hosting of the Olympics at Weymouth and Portland, in respect of
Broadband, stated that two high fibre links were being put in place
and that two exchanges would be updated for the Olympic events. There
was a need for a business case to keep the exchange and other
equipment after the games as otherwise BT could withdraw it.

Announces plans to improve Broadcasting Services & Resources for the County
of Dorset
At the last encouraging meeting of the Dorset Broadcasting
Action Group (DorBAG) and the BBC in Dorchester, attended by Oliver Letwin MP -
Chairman, Mike Hapgood – Head of BBC South, & Jane McCloskey – Head of BBC
South West, the BBC announced that it is planning several initiatives that are
aimed at providing better, more focused services for the County of
Dorset:
