In view of the small numbers of members attending,
and the pressure of business, the approval of the Minutes of the previous
meeting was postponed.
Concerning the LCWG Dinner on 16 January, as some
prominent members of the group will not be able to attend, it was suggested that
it could be postponed to a later date, but this idea was rejected.
On the possibility of the Group being involved in
supplying computer service and support at LATCH, it was confirmed that some
members would attend the Village Cafe to be held on March 20th. Gil will see
whether the School can provide a Laptop, and David can provide a large monitor
(checks will need to be made to see whether they are compatible).
The main objective at the Village Cafe
meeting on the 20th will be to find out what sort of services or support
that we might supply would be in demand. For this to be successful the
event needs to be publicised in advance; at preceding Village Cafes, in the
Bride Valley News, on the Website, and possibly on village Notice Boards.
It was suggested that the LCWG could devise a
questionnaire that could be made available at the preceding Cafes mornings, but
it was considered better to discuss the whole question with people on the 20th,
without any pre-conceived ideas.
Gil suggested that it may be time for a new
Chairperson to be elected. David proposed that Gil should remain in
office, Simon seconded the motion, and it was carried by 2 votes to nil,
with 1 Abstention.
The meeting closed at
9:30.
