NEWSLETTER - APRIL 10th 2013
Litton Cheney in the Bride Valley
Before the end of term we managed to plant some early Rocket potatoes, some runner beans in pots and radish & pumpkin seeds in trays.  We have some pretty spring bulbs in flower to brighten up the outdoor play area.  One new thing the children will be trying – using Chatter Boxes to talk about items brought in from home, a bit like Show and Tell. We are very pleased to confirm Emma Christmas as our new pre-school Manager, and that Julie Arak-Newman is now a permanent member of staff.  Many thanks to  helpers over the transition period. Can we say a warm Welcome to Edward and his family – also to Daniel and his family – we hope you enjoy your time with us at Fledglings. We wish to say a Big Thankyou to Howdens Joinery Co of Bridport for their generous £100 discount off the new dishwasher following the re-furbishment of the kitchen.  Also thankyou to  Martin Yeates for bringing in lambs for the children to feed and care for. The next major Fund Raising Event will be “A Bit of a Do” on Sunday 19th May from 2 – 5pm. Come along and see the stalls, Big Band Music, old Cars and take refreshments.  A Great Date for your Diary. If you have any outgrown children’s bicycles, tricycles, balance bikes or scooters, Fledglings would be very glad to have them – please ring the school number, as below,  if you  can donate any of these. Look out for a children’s sponsored bike ride which may be organised soon. Spring Bank Holiday is on Monday 6th May, and half term week begins on Monday 27th May.   Fledglings Pre-school is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term time, and children can stay for a hot lunch, or bring a packed lunch.
